AGILITY TRAINING

Agility training is a great form of exercise and a lot of fun for dogs and their owners! It is a great way to stimulate the dog mentally and physically while at the same time boosting their confidence levels as they learn to successfully overcome  obstacles. Most obstacles that a dog faces in an agility program are new to the dog and therefore help the dog overcome the fear of the unknown and can be extremely beneficial for any dog, especially for timid or shy dogs.

Indoor agility at your residence is offered for small sized dogs only. Please call for details.

Outdoor agility is offered at our extended kennels in Summer and Spring only.

Some of the course obstacles are:

Tire jump - dog jumps through the tire.

Open/closed jump - dog runs and jumps over the jump poles.

Distance jump - dog jumps over extended horizontal hurdles.

A-Frame - dog climbs an A-framed shaped obstacle.

Plank - dog goes up a dog walk that is elevated off the ground, walks the plank and goes down the other side.

See-Saw - dog goes over the see-saw and will learn to change the weight to lower the board down once on the other side.

Open tunnel - dog goes through open tunnel.

Closed Tunnel - dog goes through a closed sleeve and will push through and come out on the other side.

Ladder - dog climbs up diagonal ladder and walks down on a board.
