BEHAVIOR CORRECTIONmontreal dog behavior

Most negative habits have been established because your dog sees them either as acceptable behavior or, because there is some kind of incentive for him/her in doing it. We resolve this problem by teaching the dog that it is NOT okay and replacing the bad habit by one that is desirable or acceptable. This serves 2 purposes because it makes the owner of the dog happier of course, but it also helps the dog become better integrated into its human family and make the dog feel more self-assured and confident once he/she understands what's acceptable and what's not.

We can successfully provide effective solutions to a host of behavioral problems including, but not limited to:

  • house-breaking
  • separation anxiety
  • different types of phobias
  • chewing on unwanted items
  • pulling on leash
  • digging in the yard
  • excessive barking
  • jumping up on people
  • front door frenzy/darting
  • nipping/biting
  • challenges with several dogs in the same home
  • dominance-related problems
  • aggression-related problems
  • and many more!

One of the many advantages of our private classes is that the classes can happen wherever the problem exists: in your home, on the street, in your car, in dog parks, at the school yard near kids, etc. You can't teach a dog to not jump on the couch, for example, in a group class where there is no couch. All behavioral problems need to be targeted and fixed in the same location that the problem began! This knowledge will save you countless hours of frustration and a lot of money.

An evaluation is needed prior to setting up a plan to change a particular behavior. Please contact us for more info or to set up an appointment.

Training benefits

A trained dog has more freedom and is generally happier because her owner trusts her more and restricts her less.

A trained dog better understands his roles and responsibilities in the "pack" and is therefore more confident.

Generally, a trained dog has a better chance of staying with its owners because dogs that are unfortunately given away to shelters are usually dogs that have developed various forms of behavioral problems due to lack of training.

A trained dog is always more welcome in all social settings because he is better behaved and under control.

A trained dog can serve many purposes inside and outside the home such as family protection, searching and tracking, etc.
